About the Position

What will you do?

Provide assistance in the financial management function of the Santam group. This will include various financial data analysis, reporting and ad-hoc support on finance projects.

What will make you successful in this role?

Provide input and assistance in the production of timeous and accurate management reports, tax returns, statutory financial statements and reports on the overall consolidated financial results for the Santam Group of Companies.
Work independently to pro-actively identify and investigate potential risks and to research and present potential solutions to management for review.
Assist with implementation of new regulatory and reporting requirements.

Qualification & Experience

  • B Com or similar

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of IFRS, including insurance accounting - Keen interest in IFRS developments
  • Financial and management accounting knowledge
  • Insurance Act knowledge will be advantageous
  • Companies Act knowledge
  • Tax knowledge
  • Computer literate ( Solid Excel skills)
  • Taxation and accounting skills
  • Independent research skills
  • Relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Critical thinking skills and an eye for detail
